Barry’s Bootcamp is featured in the “This Minute” section of this week’s issue of Us Weekly Magazine, on newsstands today. The half-page feature notes the most popular workouts that A-list celebrities swear by and notes that “At Barry’s Bootcamp (barrysbootcamp.com), Victoria Beckham torches 1,000 calories with weights, plyometrics and cardio bursts.” The piece also features a photo of an interior of a Barry’s Bootcamp studio.

A cold night in the city and many folks are reaching for piping coffee drinks to find some warmth. Others however want a nice port or after dinner drink to ease the chill. How about combining the two for a decadent treat to warm yourself and ease the days’ burdens….that is what The Chester in NYC has done with their delicious Espresso Martini that was featured in Fox News Magazine
Cocktail consultant and author Natalie Bovis explains, “The coffee industry, much like the liquor industry, has gone through revolutionary growth and consumer awareness. Consumers seek out baristas to carefully craft a soothing, artful cup of coffee and visit bars where mixologists whip up a classic or creative cocktail with quality ingredients. The alcohol-laced coffee drink brings these two worlds together in one cup.”
And her one tip, “When making these toasty concoctions at home, follow the same rules as cooking,” says Bovis. “Choose high-quality base ingredients. Cheap booze and watery coffee are not going to yield the same results as a dark, rich espresso and a beautifully distilled spirit or liqueur.”
And for your at home pleasure, here is the recipe
2 oz. Ron Zacapa
0.5 oz. Pedro Ximenez Sherry
0.5 oz. white crème de cacao
1 shot chilled espresso
4 dashes chocolate bitters
3 espresso beans
Build cocktail by combining all ingredients into shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously to create a slight foam. Strain into chilled martini glass. Add espresso beans for garnish.
My restaurant, My Belly’s Playlist, was one of the featured sponsors of Yelp’s annual Holiday party. Two cruise ships, Hornblower’s Infinity yacht and Hornblower’s Hybrid, cruised along the Hudson and East rivers of NYC, enjoying the views of lower Manhattan, One World Trade, and the Statue of liberty. There were DJs, massages, live comedy, and great performances with over 30 different restaurants providing the food and drinks.
The reviews here say it all http://www.yelp.com/biz/yelps-holiday-hangover-2014-new-york, it was a spectacular night!
